April 3rd - Award Presentation
Went to a meeting today at this place over on campus. They told me it was near a church, but it's *IN* the church! (well, not really... it's in the basement) Place is a real treat. Excellent mood, nice lighting, fantastic tunes, very very good java and the wifi is smokingly fast. If I need to meet on the campus side of town, this place might become my fave. (Located on the east side of Washtenaw, just a block or two north of The Rock) (Click their logo to get to their website)
We tested their connection speed... it was just as good as the coffee!
The Common Cup is not your average coffee shop…it’s on a mission to bring everyone that walks through the doors a coffee drinking experience that is simply amazing. The latte-art-trained baristas are more than happy to oblige your taste buds. They take pride in pulling espresso shots from a LaMarzocco machine straight from Italy and have been educated about our locally roasted coffee which is a variety of blends and single origin. Not a connoisseur? They would be happy to tell you all about it…just ask!
The regular customers love the comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The music selection played on the surround sound is more than diverse and the walls are clad with the work of local artists. “It’s a great place to sit and relax, study, or drop in and hang out with friends – I’'ve even seen different groups holding meetings there. The best thing is the free Wifi, everyone knows that coffee tastes better with high speed!” The Common Cup prides its self on purchasing all its food from local vendors and coffee beans from a local roaster. You will never find more friendly customer service! You never know what kind of crazy named drink will be
the special that day, but you can be sure that it will be served with
excellence.
The Common Cup is also unique because they host events such as:
book signings, comedy nights, live musicians, coffee cupping classes, and sponsor a chamber orchestra called Vivo Sinfonietta. There is always something exciting going on at The Common Cup!
Come in a stranger, and leave a friend who just happens to be drinking the best cup of coffee in town!
